Is a parakeet the right pet for you???

If you are planning on buying a parakeet it is not a easy choice there are a lot of things you have to think about.I will write a list so you know about what to think about.

1. Who will take care of the parakeet?
2. Is anyone in your house allergic to birds or bird feathers?
3. Do you have a safe place for the cage?
4. Do you have a pet that could harm them cat,dog,snake etc?
5. How many are you going to buy?

The parakeet cage

First you need to set up your cage before your parakeet comes.I will give you a list of what you need to buy.

1. Cuttlebone
2. Cage big enough for your parakeets to fly around.
3. food
4. water
5. 4 toys
6. Nest box (optional)
7. Bathtub(optional)
8. Perches
9. Newspaper or Sand (optional)
10. Safe space to fly around

Take care of them

I am going to give you a list of how you should take care of your parakeet.

1. Give them a bath once a week.
2. Let them out of the cage once a day
3. Clean their cage every 3 days
4. Take your pet to the vet once a month.
5. Do hand feeding once a week
