The state Arkansas has so much of places to visit and one of the best to visit is the Ozark’s mountain.

In this blog we are going to see Ozark’s mountain on top of the city named Eureka Springs, Arkansas which is 6 hour drive from Dallas.

You can plan to visit for 2 or 3 days or extend your trip to a week also. Because there are so much places and activity to do at this beautiful Mountain.

Best Time To Visit

Best time to visit Eureka Springs are Spring, summer and Fall. You have to book at-least 6 month advance to reserve your best spot at Eureka springs hotel. Yes, fall is one the peak time to visit Eureka springs.

We have visited during summer and fall and we loved the visit during our both time.

Fall you might layer jacket and if you like colder weather, visiting during winter month also good option with layers of jacket!!

During July 4th holidays we visited and to our surprise , the crackers are legal in eureka springs and we enjoyed the crackers with kids almost till 11 pm with camp fire.

There are wide range options available for staying and exploring Eureka springs:

Historic Hotels with options for spa, massage and site seeing are availble, you can book State park cabins.

Since it is at 6 hour drive, you can plan for camping with friends or take RV and stay at their RV camp site lots of Motels are also available.

When you are booking camp site make sure the weather is good on the day of your reservation

Places to Explore

1. Roaring River State Park

The Roaring river state park is all you needed to take break from busy Dallas city life. This State park of the most relaxing place for family with kids to enjoy in Nature.

This state park located at 35 min away from Eureka spring Down town.

Roaring River Falls, river, Fishing Hatchery, trails all located near to the cabins.

They have the most beautiful individual cabins and motel kind of room which are located on the edge of the river.

We took the individual cabins where you can hearing the sound of Roaring river as the name mention it.

We went during the month of July 4th , one of the time we went it was mist and cold which are best to escape for Texas heat.

In the below pic, you can see the Cabins on the facing towards the river.

As we stayed in the cabins for a day, we took walk both in the evening time and also in the morning time, there are trials and hiking from 0.5 mile of 4 mile.

They have amazing fish hatchery, with tons of Trout fish. Below are the some of the pics from fish hatchery located in the center of the state park.

Falls, river and fish hatchery are located at one place. No need to go away from the park.If you like fishing, you have to take one fishing license at the front of the park gift shop, they also selling fishing hooks.

Kids will never not get bored at this state park because they have plenty of activities or time to explore the fishing hatchery

Camp and RV are located throughout the park.

Take your GPS or download the map, you will not find network in some of the places around the Roaring river state park.

They have very fine food at the state park Restaurant which you have to drive 5 min from the falls and fishing hatchery place and you can also book hotels in the State park suits.

If you are taking cabins near to the falls then bring your own food and water. There no shops anyway around the state park.

2. Christ Of Ozark’s

Christ of Ozark’s is very calm and beautiful vibrant place to visit at a top of Magnetic Mountain.We are amazed by visiting this place and walking toward the place will bring positive energy which is related to the religious play named – The great passion play.

The statue with arms is 65.5 feet high at an altitude of 12,310 feet above sea level.

They have other activity like Holy Land Tour, Several Museums and hiking along the scenic trails.

One of the best fire works to visit at this places during the July 45. Fire works on top of the pleasant mountain from eating in the outdoor amphitheater.

3. Ozark Mountain Ziplines

If you are looking for zip line adventure , then eureka springs will be best places to go for zip line with family. Soar through the air from up to 300 + feet high over the vast gorgeous, beautiful Ozark hardwood trees and limestone cliffs.

This zip line – kids from age of 5 plus years . They have weight restrictions and you have to book in advance to book your spot on your day of visit.

5. Basin Spring Park

The park located at the center of Eureka springs downtown. After walking around the place, this park will be good to sit and relax or for kids to play or Climb to the top to see the spring and beautiful view of the city or take the hiking at Harmon Loop Trail.

If you are tired of walking then sit and relax on the concrete slab, during festival or holiday time they will have music band program on the Basin park.The music and the people vibration will be all around the downtown.

6.Eureka springs Down town

This Historic downtown is one of the gem place to visit in that dense Ozark.

This downtown is very pleasant and scenic with their older buildings and historic architecture.

Try their local restaurants, ice cream and coffee shops and with variety of uniques gift shops along with picture perfect buildings. Then this downtown will be good for one time visit.

7. Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge

Visit the Lifelong home for big cats. At Turpentine, they are working to rescue and rehabilitate animals from roadside zoo, private owners and situations of neglect and much more.

This is the place where the animals will get the lifelong home, care and rehabilitating them physically and mentally in a life of sanctuary.

Visiting Turpentine make you fell like good human. They provide education to visitors on how to help big cats for the future. They have suits, in which the money is being used to help recovering creatures.

8. Beavers Lake

It is a 30,000 acre lake with 480 mile of shoreline. Take kayak or paddle boat of Big Cliff park.The best way to enjoy the lake by taking cabin or rental house during holidays. The fall and spring will be more beautiful with peaceful and many turning roads.

9. Food

As we took road trip, we explored lots of road side traditional shops and must say the taste and quality you will never forgot or never find in well established cities. The people are very kind and the started to dessert everything tasted fresh and handmade.

Stop at the road side ice cream shop or at the donuts shop with local name which are near to Zip-line and downtown or in main areas, then visit and enjoy the scoop of freshly made ice-cream or brewed coffee.

10. Antique Shops

There are tons of antique shops all around the eureka springs. If you are looking good indoor or outdoor antique piece for home, room decor or special jewelry for yourself or to give gifts to your friends and family women .

11. Dense Devil Forest

On the way back to Dallas, stop at this hidden gem state Park name Dense devil Forest.

Hiking trails, campsites, cabins and Paddle boating are all available.
