Grind coconut , jeera ,red chilli and fried gram with little water to paste.Keep it aside
Peel the skin and remove the seed and chop the chow chow to small cubes.
In pressure cooker , wash and add the moong dal along with chopped chow chow , turmeric , salt and pressure cook for 3 whistles.
Once the pressure released, open the cooker and hen add grounded coconut paste, 1/2 cup of water and bring it to boil.
Heat 1 tsp of oil, add mustard seeds, urad dal ,red chilli , hing and curry leaves and coriander leaves.
Pour the seasoning on top of the kootu.
Serve hot with rice or chapati
