Easy Healthy Snack recipe - Cabbage Dumplings

Kids love this vegetable filled dumpling for evening snacks time.

Equipment

  • Steamer(idli pan),bowl.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Grated Cabbage
  • 1 medium Onion(finely chopped)
  • 1 tsp Grated garlic
  • 1 tsp Pepper
  • 1 tsp Oil or butter
  • Salt to taste

For make dought

  • 1 cup Maida ( all purpose flour)
  • Salt as needed
  • Oil as needed

Instructions

STUFFING PREPARATION

  • Heat wide pan in medium flame, add oil , garlic and onion saute till onion turns transparent color , add cabbage with required salt , Pepper and saute for 10 to 15 minute till the moisture evaporate.
  • Keep aside the cabbage stuffing to cool down .

Make the Dough

  • Gently mix all purpose flour along with salt and oil to semi stiff dough consistency. The dough should not be very soft else the rolling and stuffing part will be tough.
  • Allow the dough to rest for 15 to 30 minutes.

Dumpling and Steaming

  • Take small amount of dough , roll on a greased surface .Dust the flour as needed to make nice base for dumpling. Add add a tsp of cabbage stuffing and seal all the sides and make for all other dough with stuffing.
  • Once the dumplings are ready.Allow the steamer to boil and grease the steamer plate with oil and arrange the dumplings on top of the plate.
  • Keep the plate on the boiling steamer and cover cook for 10 minutes.
  • The dumpling become little transparent after 10 minutes of cooking.Switch off the flame and allow to cool down .
  • Gently transfer the dumplings from the steamer to the plate.
  • Serve cabbage dumpling with ketchup/red chilli sauce.
